The
Al Sood
Legacy

Al Sood
'The Black'

Was a Black Straight Egyptian, great grandson of the legendary stallion Ansata Ibn Halima from the famous Ansata stud in the U.S.A.

Thirteen generations back on his tail female line he was descended from the Abbas Pasha desert mare Ghazieh.

Al Sood at 23 yrs of age

Standing 15.1 hands he had correct conformation, good conformation, type and presence.

He had a lovely neck, set well into a sloping, powerful shoulder with a defined wither – good bone, short cannons and strong feet.  Even into his twenties he still had clean limbs  and maintained a long floating stride, perfect for endurance.

Sadly he passed away in 2015 aged 25 – limited frozen semen still available.

Stud fee £700

The Only Black AHS Premium Scheme Sire

SCID, LFS and CA free

Purchased as a foal Al Sood was kept all his life in a non-competitive yard on a working farm. As well as stud duties he was ridden extensively, hunted with the Duke of Buccleuch Foxhounds and took part in many Borders Common Ridings.

A fertile and prepotent sire, Al Sood was a proven producer of quality foals who inherit his amazing temperament. They are sensible and renowned for trainability, taking everything in their stride. The quality and suitability of his offspring for endurance has become apparent over the years. As well as their strength, stamina and character it has been noted they have particularly good heart rate recovery.

Al Sood was accredited as an Arab Horse Society Premium stallion in 2012 following the huge successes of his offspring and evaluation by an AHS judge

In 2016, the first time Scottish Endurance Riding Club (SERC) results were included, Al Sood was the 3rd highest placed sire of Endurance horses in the U.K. under the AHS Premium scheme
